Qualitas Energy, a global investment and management platform focused on renewable energy, energy transition, and sustainable infrastructure investment, announced today the opening of a new office in Wroclaw, situated in southwestern Poland. This move signifies the firm’s commitment to strengthening its presence and operations in the country.

From the Wroclaw office, the team will concentrate on greenfield development located in southern and western Poland, regions Qualitas Energy has identified as particularly conducive to the development of renewable energy projects. Furthermore, establishing a physical presence in the region facilitates fostering close collaboration with local authorities, communities, and other stakeholders. This aims to strengthen commitment to sustainable development, facilitate transparent communication, and collectively work towards achieving mutual goals that positively impact the region’s socio-economic and environmental landscape.

The Wroclaw office will be led by Kamila Sobczyk, who also holds the role of Head of Development for the Polish team. She possesses profound expertise in guiding the development and implementation of greenfield projects in the region.

With this new opening, the operational development, construction, and asset management teams in Poland are now fully established. Consisting of 14 members, the team collectively brings extensive sector-specific experience, complemented by a deep understanding of the local dynamics of the Polish market.

Krzysztof Zieniewicz, Country Head for Poland, states: “We take pride in reaffirming our dedication to renewable energy in Poland. Positioned strategically, our team equipped with sector-specific expertise is committed to working diligently in delivering successful greenfield projects across key regions. Looking forward, we are eager to explore new opportunities, foster collaboration, and strengthen ties with local partners for Poland’s sustainable future.”

Strong presence in Poland

In 2020, Qualitas Energy marked its entry into the Polish market with the acquisition of the Milkowice PV project, the second-largest solar park in Poland. Boasting a capacity of 113 MWp (87 MWac), it is anticipated to generate over 120 GWh of clean energy annually, meeting the energy needs equivalent to approximately 60,000 Polish households.

The solar farm’s energy output is committed to a long-term corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with Amazon, a partnership that was officially announced in 2022.

Simultaneously in the same year, Qualitas Energy established its inaugural office in the country, strategically located in Warsaw and led by Krzysztof Zieniewicz as the Country Head.

Qualitas Energy’s emphasis on the Polish market is driven by the urgent need for transitioning from coal to clean energy. This shift creates favorable conditions for the development of solar PV and wind energy, both of which play a pivotal role in Poland’s ambitious renewable energy targets.

With this new office, Qualitas Energy extends its global presence to a total of 12 offices across the world. The team comprises over 650 professionals representing a diverse spectrum of over 25 nationalities.
